A Ceremony that highlights technologies of tomorrow
The TRUSTECH Innovation Awards were a big success, with exhibitors more motivated than ever and an audience eager to discover the finalist solutions! Participants were divided into distinct categories: Identification, Smart Cards, Payment Solutions, and of course, a category dedicated to startups. Amid the applause of visitors and participants attending the competition's final, the 2024 winners received their diplomas and trophies, symbols of recognition for their contributions and a celebration of their innovations. They also had the opportunity to "pitch" their solutions on the Innovation Stage!
To select the winners, the decision was tough, and the competition was intense! The jury evaluated the candidates based on several pre-defined criterias: the innovativeness of the solution, its impact, feasibility, market opportunities, business model, and the quality of the presentation. After reviewing the various projects, three finalists were chosen in each category, and one winner per category was announced during the ceremony:
Identification Category: SmartDisplayer Technology for the innovation "Sustainable Smart eBadge"
The award went to SmartDisplayer's "Sustainable Smart eBadge", an innovative and eco-friendly badge with a 4-inch colour e-paper display. This energy-efficient solution for identification badges integrates NFC (Near Field Communication) and BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) interfaces for data transmission and stands out for its sustainability and flexible design.
Smart Cards Category: Ellipse for the innovation "EVC (Ellipse Verification Code)"
The EVC (Ellipse Verification Code) technology, awarded in this category, addresses the critical need to enhance online transaction security. Developed by Ellipse, this solution features a dynamic security code displayed on an e-paper screen directly integrated into the bank card. Powered by NFC technology and without a battery, this code automatically changes with each use. In addition to safeguarding user data, it offers an "Invisible" mode that hides the CVV code for added security. Ellipse also collaborated with partners like Crédit Agricole to test this technology, further establishing its credibility in the market.
Innovative Payment Category: Infineon Technologies for the innovation "SECORA™ Pay Green’’
SECORA™ Pay Green stood out in this category due to its commitment to more sustainable practices. This module integrates security components while allowing the use of recycled or biodegradable materials for cards. By replacing traditional antennas with a compact, eco-friendly module technology, SECORA™ Pay Green reduces CO₂ emissions by more than 60% in production and logistics. Infineon also offers a solution that combines technological innovation with environmental responsibility, meeting the growing expectations of financial institutions and consumers.
The Start-Up Trophy: A New Showcase for Entrepreneurial Boldness
Alongside the TRUSTECH Innovation Awards, the Start-Up Trophy, organised in partnership with Agorize, provided a unique opportunity for innovative young companies. This competition highlighted disruptive projects in the fields of identification, payments, and digital security, giving startups the chance to present their solutions to a panel of experts and a professional audience.
The startup Keyless stood out with its passwordless biometric authentication solution, a technology combining facial recognition and data privacy preservation. This innovative approach eliminates the need for passwords, simplifies the user experience, and ensures high-level security. During the event, Keyless also enjoyed increased visibility, hosting a session on the Innovation Stage and engaging with participants, also strengthening its position in a rapidly evolving market.
